After the GT40 win at Le Mans
in 1966, 1008 was turned into a lookalike of the winning car, 1046 and
then, in 1969, the car was rebuilt to look like the legendary 1075.
After spending many years alternating
between the Donnington Museum and the Ford plant at Swansea, 1008 was restored
back to its original configuration and its original colour scheme of
Featured in many magazines in recent years,
1008 was returned to storage in England. but has now returned to the scene
in a pseudo-Gulf colour scheme.
